About the Beneficiary
NEVER SAY NEVER PLAYLAND
The Mission: To build an inclusive playground where kids and adults of ALL abilities will be able to come together and play as equals.
Never Say Never Playland is the dream and passion of Dusti Grenus and an army of like-minded friends behind her. Dusti’s only daughter, 22-year-old Kameron, was born with Cerebral Palsy, and has limited mobility and communication ability. For all these years, Dusti has searched for opportunities to give Kam the life of a “normal” kid, and has pursued tireless research and campaigning to develop Never Say Never, inc.
This amazing playground will be located in Veterans Park in Lake Geneva, and will offer an innovative, safe, accessible, and fun experience for kids (and adults) of all ages and mobility levels. We are one of only two counties in the state with a special needs school, and Walworth County is also the home of The Wisconsin School for the Deaf, yet we have no appropriate outdoor recreation area for the less-abled members of our community.
Never Say Never will be a 13,000 sq ft, fully inclusive playground, compliant with the ADA. Some of the key features that make it fully accessible to all are swings with high backs and safety belts, a wheelchair friendly merry-go-round, wheelchair swing, no stairs and lastly, the entire playground will have a poured-in-place rubber foundation. There are too many unique features to list them all, but the playground will be the first of its kind in the Walworth County area.
Join us. Help us. Learn more about us. The land has been donated, and initial funding is underway, but we need your help to reach our goal of $520,000 to bring the playground to life for Walworth County.
